The Mike Jones Project

If you don't know who Mike Jones is he's a rapper. You're probably asking yourself how did you come to name your blog, The Mike Jones Project? Well if you must know....I was having a discussion with a friend of mine about how he had a weekend hook up with an attractive woman from his past that gave him no play back in the day. My friend stated during the conversation, "Back then they didn't want me, now I'm hot they all up on me." That's a line from Mike Jones' "Back Then."

The song talks about how women treated him before he blew up. That's the mission I'm on. My wife of ten years recently broke camp. She dropped a bomb on me, said she didn't love me, that I was boring, and that it she didn't know why she married me. If you have never been dumped let me tell you after a decade of marriage to be dropped like J Holiday from his record label is one hell of a shot. I couldn't believe my ears. My heart still can't believe.

In any event, she's gone now. After quite a bit of counseling (professional and otherwise), medication (prescribed and State Store Over the Counter), and some long nights, I have come to the conclusion that life goes on. My problem is that I don't know where life is going on at. What I do know is that it ain't going to be going on the same way it was pre-dumping.

So, my goal is to make the Mike Jones line, "Back then they didn't want me (insert my wife, the higher ups that didn't grant that promotion, the women I'm attracted to that don't give a brotha no play, etc...), Now I'm hot they all up on me." I'm on a quest to recreate myself into something greater than it's current presentation. I want it to be a full transformation....a reformation of sorts. This blog will be about my journey into the new me.

The first step is hittin' the gym. I already joined, got in one good workout. Now it's time to go hard. In the comfort of marriage I let the body go big time. Now that I'm back out on the street I got to get my stuff together. This is the easiest move. Plus, I got all types of free time on my hands. Why not use it to improve the product. There will be other changes to come. This was just the first step. So, with that I ask that you join me on my journey. Join me in the Mike Jones Project.
